Abstract

This analytical study examines the social importance and requirements of compassion and gentleness within the framework of Islamic teachings as found in the Quran and Sunnah. Compassion and gentleness are foundational virtues emphasized in Islam, playing a crucial role in shaping individual character and societal dynamics. Through an in-depth analysis of relevant Quranic verses and teachings from the Sunnah, this study aims to highlight the significance of these virtues in fostering a compassionate and harmonious social environment. It explores the ethical principles, behavioural guidelines, and practical applications derived from Islamic sources that promote empathy, kindness, and tolerance in interpersonal relationships and community interactions. By drawing insights from Islamic teachings, this study offers valuable insights into cultivating a more compassionate and empathetic society based on the principles of mercy and understanding.
